Fashion Wars Live at 3rd Ward Results

Fashion Wars presents two pictures side by side and the viewer clicks on their favorite to cast a vote. Fashion Wars Live took this interactive web format into a real world venue, 3rd Ward. Whilst DJs and bands worked the crowd, the most fabulous of them had their portrait taken, had it uploaded to the web, and were voted on by the rest of the crowd live at the event and by ZOOZOOM's fans around the world. Everyone voted on their iPhone. Voting continued after the event and these are the results after one month of voting. Raya Ani has won a spread in ZOOZOOM. View fullscreen results

Morgan Avenue, Brooklyn was seeing all kinds of funky foot traffic, and surely more stilettos than usual. On Friday November 14th, ZOOZOOM and 3rd Ward held the first FASHION WARS LIVE battle, and it was a vicious one indeed. We saw thongs, bowler hats, faux fur and feathers donning the best-looking crowd in five boroughs. So far over 65,000 votes have been cast in the competition to win a spread in ZOOZOOM.

New York Spring 2009 Fashion Week Review
New York Spring Fashion Week is over. We kicked off our Fashion Week with an interview with Steven Kolb, the Executive Director of the CFDA. We also found out how difficult it is for some to be charitable, accept progress and a more sustainable glossy future. We featured a number of designers in The Magazine. Don't miss Zero by Maria Cornejo or Sue Stemp. The look in our Sue Stemp Cover was an early leader in Fashion Wars and is still doing well given the number of wars it has been through. This Yigal Azrouel look has been in the most wars. At the time of posting Anna Sui is Sold Out and Phillip Lim is Bargain Basement. To be fair, having only been in, and lost, one war, this will certainly change.
Darra Torres, Olympic swimmer, walked for Charles Nolan. Kelley may have had an epiphany, is longing for Costello Tagliapietra and congratulates Shaun Kearney for Cynthia Steffe. Xenia reflects on Patrik Rzepski, Gummy Bears and razor blades, is more in love with Steinunn and Iceland and is a little jealous of Staerk. She cries Hooray for Herch and Holy Shit! for Hanii Y. That's a good thing by the way. Watch for more reviews, features and keep voting in Fashion Wars.
In The BUZZ, we learnt Kelley is busting the imposter RDM and Julie reminded us of the need for change.
Masthead and Blog

We have launched a Masthead and Blog. The blog is open for comment. We'd like to hear what you have to say. Perhaps the most controversial of our opening posts, is David's: ZOOZOOM, Gay Dollars and WWD. Kelley's Transitioning Seasons, Xenia's contemplating The Extinction of Trends and has a good point to make about not hating on them, we love some of them after all. ZOO Daily :: I Am Not A Fashion Photographer :: An Interview with Mary Ellen Mark

I was nervous enough as it was when I found out that Mary Ellen Mark, formerly of the New Yorker, winner of countless awards, once voted the most influential female photographer, was about to have a conversation with me for ZOOZOOM Magazine, but tension suddenly grew tenfold when I found myself talking to an incredibly shaken version of the stoic eccentric I concocted from reading interviews. Mary had just been 'accosted' in Oaxaca Mexico, where she was currently teaching, and had just returned from the market before our phone interview... completely happy to still be alive, albeit without her wallet. It was definitely a moment of enlightenment for me, foreshadowed by how much I had read about Mary Ellen's uncanny ability to relate a quality of humanism in her subjects; now, she was my subject. more...
