Carolina Herrera :: Fall 2006

Strangly Herrera took her inspiration for this collection from Claudia Cardinale, the Italian actress whose career started after she won a beauty contest, and who might be best known to American audiences as Princess Dala in the original 'Pink Panther' movie. This is strange because my inspiration for writing came from David Niven who wrote 'The Moon's A Balloon' and who was also in 'The Pink Panther'. Small world, isn't it.

The collection drew on the late fifties, where the protagonist is hanging out with beat poets but her folks are rich and no matter how hard she tries she can't dress it down so although she look great she doesn't look cool [David McIntyre] more...
