Anait Bian :: Fall 2006

French-Armenian designer, Anait Bian let editors know that her inspirations for the season stemmed from her love of "poison green" and a zipper seen on a designer couch (among other things). The result was a collection that tried to be something it was not. It was a clutter of ideas and fabrics, from the peach satin tops to the sporty tropical floral print dresses. Bold white zippers were placed on too many things and took away from the ideas behind the clothes. Colors came from different ends of the spectrum and often clashed. I give an A for effort, but N as well, for needs improvement. [Rania Abu Eid]
