Thom Browne :: Fall 2006
'My name ... is Michael Caine'. The Englishman in me was happy. Mod suits, stockings and suspenders, tinges perhaps of Harry Potter (for we men have such a lack of non-sporting role models that a schoolboy can influence how we see the world). Drain pipes, long shorts over leggings. What's a boy to do when he is finally offered something more than a suit, than jeans, something with detail he can fall in love with. Something to match the detail the women can lose themselves in, something he can wear to break through the menswear monotony. Well, I think it's time for him to go shopping.
The ice and snow helped the viewers understand the playful and mischievous side of the collection. The suit as a radical non-conformist statement. It didn't help the photographers though, the models couldn't stop and pose, each time they tried, they had to turn to prevent themselves falling over or skating off the edge of the rink.
