While I waited in the dark talking to wonderful Swedish journalists and listening to Arthur Russell, I realized in all the fun I was having it had somehow struck half-past showtime. Though the show's management was the picture of stoic grace, I could not help but wonder what (or shall I say who), we were waiting for. Beginning with dark and daunting lights and music, the first of the seemingly Eastern European models with low and delicately-weaved hair, sauntered down the runway. A playful pair, this team of designers played with bunchy imaginative shapes mixed with slim and structure pieces. Reflecting a trend we will soon note, the collection was chock full of bell shaped skirts that flattered the hips and tickled the knees. In this Hollywood in the fifties meets Bjork in fishnets show, we could not help but keep looking down... at the shoes. Holy shoe! How did they make those gold studded black leather boots look, dare I say, elegant? And how did the wedge shoe become as sexy as the many luxurious fur and jeweled stilettos? With the plunging neckline fitted blazers and those mint chocolate chip dresses that seemed to create a fourth dimension, this couple emanated sweetness. While you watched the little blonde-haired toddler traipse alongside them after the show, you couldn't help but ask yourself what part she played in plying their imaginations.
