ZOOZOOM Launches Interactive New York Fashion Week Map
Fashionably Late - No More!
New York fashion week is fast approaching, (september 8- 15) and while we'll see plenty of surprises on the runway there is one thing we can be sure of; every single fashion show will start late. The reason for fashions tardiness is simple, thousands of members of the international fashion press, fashion buyers from the four corners of the globe and a slew of models from continents far removed, all trying to navigate New York's concrete canyons in a foreign language. Not surprisingly more that a few get waylaid, lost and in some cases fleeced by New York's street savvy ambassadors; taxi drivers, all of which sets in motion a horrible but well dressed domino effect that carries from one show to the next, each getting later and later until the last show of the day becomes the first of tomorrow. Which explains one of the reasons why we have to hold the Spring 2007 shows in September 2006!
But now with the help of McEye Media, publishers of The Original Online Glossy, ZOOZOOM.COM things are about to change as they roll out their Interactive New York Fashion Week Map. This easy to use google map mash up brings together a New York City street map, or satellite photograph together with ZOOZOOM's own fashion show tags. The fashionista can zoom onto a show location, can get directions to and from each event and can even get the start times and all show details. With this season featuring more shows than ever, staying on track is the season's key accessory.
The map can be found at this address http://www.blog.zoozoom.com/zoozoom/2006/08/new_york_fashio_114.html or from the link on zoozoom.com cover-page.
If you're a dedicated follower of fashion but not one of the invitees, you can use the map to keep up to date as ZOOZOOM will be linking from each designer map reference to their reviews and coverage of the shows.
Of course bringing fashion firsts to the web is nothing new for ZOOZOOM.COM. The six year old fashion magazine is and has been the only online magazine to bring the content and style of a high end print magazine to the Web. Winner of a Webby Award for best fashion site and a Time magazine cool site of the year, ZOOZOOM is founder and market leader in the online glossy magazine segment.
