Light and Magic featuring Steinunn

Dreamy black silhouettes backlit by fluorescent lights. Childlike sounds that somehow seem menacing. Two girls similar but not identical. Two boys tinkering with ancient instruments and shoegazer riffs. The color black everywhere. The "electronic rock" band Ladytron has a solid innocence underlined by darkness; somehow they portray angst sophisticatedly in their music and their look consistently. view fullscreen feature
Steinunn :: New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2009 featuring Steinunn

I know I keep saying it, but Icelandic people are just different. We are all molded by our environments, whether it be the prefabulousness of suburban Pennsylvania (which is not as bad as you think, ahem!) or 24 hours of daylight in the summers. Need For Speed featuring Steinunn

French sociologist and philosopher Henri Lefebvre called the automobile the 'epitome of possessions,' something comparable to a diamond necklace. The make and model of the latest sports car is virtually the same as Louis Vuitton insignia, and with the Birkin bag's prices and limited production transforming accessories into collector's items, the price gap between wheels and handbags is narrowing somewhat. more...
New York Fashion Week Spring 2008 :: Steinunn featuring Steinunn

Intricate paper-like folds and ribboning added texture to a collection dominated by heather grey, black and lavender. A print that rendered the quality of both a painted and photographic floral pattern made an occasional appearance on a dress or a bandeau top. Structure was impeccable. Looks were concise.
