Fall 2007 Fashion War Winners (and Losers) featuring Marc Jacobs

Democracy is in fashion again and ZOOZOOM is ready to give the people what they want. Now that Fall 2007 fashion has broken free from tents at Bryant Park and spilled onto the streets, it's time to tally the votes from ZOOZOOM's Fashion Wars and find out the style consensus.
With a total of 300,000 votes cast on New York Fall Fashion Week 2007's looks, this season we witnessed twice the number of confrontations from the season before but in the end the victor was once again Michael Kors. Now that Michael has been sitting on the throne for two seasons in a row, the American Sportswear staple has proven that many of us are still looking for Pierre Cardin's classic women's suit, but in fabrics that are comfortable and cuts that are updated.
Up there with him with neutrals, knits, jeans, and grays (yet another crowd-pleasing runway trend!) were Yigal Azrouel, and Chris Han. Beyond street-friendly tops and bottoms, it seemed the fashionistas were dreaming of the nightlife All the results and more...

The Bloomsbury Set featuring Marc Jacobs

Take care of the luxuries and the necessities will take care of themselves.
So said Dorothy Parker, an admirer of the Bloomsbury Set. Of course today a pair Louboutin shoes is as much a necessity as a luxury! If you want to find a little London Bohemia try mixing patterns (stripes with flowers are a good choice), play with plenty of delicate layers and add a decadent abundance of jewelry.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2007 :: Marc Jacobs featuring Marc Jacobs

What is there to say about a designer that has claimed his limelight and continues to produce? We can say that he remains on the edge and wearable, hushing audiences twice a season and four times a year and that this Spring 2007 collection was no exception. We can wear his sweaters and spring jackets when running out to get the mail, his caps to translate his edginess to our own looks, and his dresses when we want to be noticed. Because his inspiration is internal and too slippery to connect to a time period or season's trend, his clothing remains as new as a friend who erupts with creativity in all that he does, and continually ejects new ideas into our lives. Marc Jacobs Fashion Show :: Spring Summer 2006 featuring Marc Jacobs

Leaving the Marc Jacob's show and paying a little to much attention to what other people were saying I wondered if I'd been to a wine tasting party or perhaps a gathering of young architects. "Wonderful palette" "Rich and smooth", (with peppery undertones!) "Structured", "Bold and modern" and finally, and this is all true, apart from the peppery bit, I heard an elderly member of the fashion establishment say she "loved the delicate lines".
So there you have it: build it, drink it or just wear it. more...
