Bill Armstrong :: Extreme Blur

In 1996, artist Bill Armstrong began photographing collages found on the streets of the city that were created by the chance juxtaposition of torn posters on temporary construction walls. Armstrong exhibited his 'Accidental Portraits' at the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University and at the Uma Gallery in New York the following year. The artist puts it succinctly himself - "The nature of visual perception intrigues me: how the eye continually tries to resolve these images, but is unable to do so, and how that is unsettling.
