What would happen if an innovative designer went to a legendary Parisian fashion house with technical design skills, and found that despite the success of her artistic creations, her creative ideas were brimming over?
She would get back to making noise.
That's what Catherine Dupire-Clement decided to do after honing the craft of design at Sonia Rykiel. Her collection 'Back to Noise' reflects their own lifestyle. She's no early twenty-something with a trust fund; she is a seriously-experienced designer, who feels as vibrant and electrifying in her night life, passion for music, and desire to make some racket.
And the results are a Grace Jones-inspired art-luxury collection for people like them, who do not let norms of traditional dress, age, or occupation dictate style. In python, lambskin, and silk, their Parisian post-punk, cold wave and Taxi girl cool influences translate visibly in a completely wearable collection for the eclectic chic lady (or man).
Their studded bags are overpoweringly lux in python, reviving the lux punk of Vivienne Westwood's earliest days with the production quality of Hermes (who uses the same factory!)
So if you're not afraid of fluorescent colors, hot one-pieces and giant graphic iguanas, if you can handle all that cool, then you better investigate this line, because I have a feeling they are here to stay.
